7/11/2019. Mundelein Seminary alumni dinner-golf event
Re: Mark Your Calendar
I think calendar season is just about over. Calendar season is that period of time beginning in late summer when you get calendars from every conceivable charity. By now you have selected one to use for 2019 and begun to populate it with events and appointments.
Please add this event to your July 2019 calendar and give it some consideration. The date for USML alumni golf outing and banquet is set for July 11, 2019.
It has been a regular event at the seminary for several years now though many of us were not aware of it. Those in our class who have attended it in the past have had a good time. As a result of discussions I had with Pete and others when we got together this year for our 50th Anniversary/Reunion, I am promoting it as a get together event for 2019. The price is right at $0 and the location is convenient. Unfortunately one of its drawbacks is that it is limited to alumni only.
The day's agenda includes Morning Golf if desired, Lunch, Golf, Reception, Banquet, and Awards Ceremony. You don’t have to golf. Participation in the events earlier in the day-golf, lunch, and afternoon golf-is optional. In the past many of our classmates came just for the reception and banquet. Since Alma Mater is providing a full day of activities, I don’t think we need to add to it. But now would be the time to start planning if you really want to do anything else during the event.
Also if you are coming from some distance or want to put off the return home till the next day, you will probably be able to get a room at a reasonable rate in the Conference Center (Phil House). We will have more information on that later.
Here is a link to the 2018 version of the event. www.usml.edu/event/alumnigolf. I expect the 2019 version to be similar.
Though this event does not have the clout of a 50th or 60th, it provides us with an intermediate get together. Why be strangers meeting only every 10 years.
I will maintain a straw poll of those who are thinking about coming. Please let me know.
